There have been an increasing number of young people who have turned away from natural body building in favor of artificial growth hormones and steroids. Everything that the world has learned about performance enhancing substances have been left behind in favor of a quick-fix type of solution.

Many celebrities like California Governor: Arnold Schwarzenegger have spoken out and published articles about health problems associated with steroid use (Arnold had a bypass surgery years ago to repair a damaged valve in his heart). As science evolves, better ways are found to beat the testing systems in place for competition, which makes illegal substances more tempting to try.

Go Natural

Natural body building will only better your lifestyle and life expectancy, when combined with a nutritional diet low in processed foods. Going the other route means always worrying about if you will get caught (if you’re a competitive athlete) and generally not knowing what will become of your health 10 or 20 years down the road. You may also feel more confident when showing off your body as you can tell others its all ‘real’

Going the natural body building route will also give you the confidence of knowing that you don’t need pills or injections to feel strong. You’ve gotten where you are with whatever you were put on this earth with, and your brain — rather than walking around feeling like a science project.

People who use illegal performance enhancers are also prone to bouts of uncontrolled aggression, lack of concentration and severe hormone deficiencies when they have to quit using the drugs. Jose Canseco has made his hormone problems public, to try and warn young people to go the natural route (his body is barely able to produce testosterone after years of steroid abuse).

The only side effects of natural body building are: better health, stronger muscles, “natural” self confidence and health soreness.

A successful muscle building routine will always need to include a proper diet. People who lack experience with weight training tend to place a lot of importance on the types of exercises, and the way the exercises are put together in a routine. The reality is that mental focus and discipline, along with awareness about proper nutrition for bodybuilding are far more important elements.

Your body will react to almost any sort of exercise, or repetitive motion by increasing your strength and endurance fairly quickly. However, this will not happen if you don’t apply proper nutrition for bodybuilding success.

If your body is lacking in protein, carbohydrates, water and body fat — your metabolism will not allow your body to go into an anabolic (muscle building state).

Protein

The most commonly talked about element of nutrition for bodybuilding: You need to consume approximately 0.5 – 1 grams of protein, per pound of body weight. Whey protein supplements, along with beef, chicken or pork are all great sources of high quality protein.

Carbohydrates

When your body is lacking in either carbohydrates (carbs) or fat stores, it consumes its muscle tissue to maintain energy levels. How many carbs you should be getting will depend on your metabolism. Many slim people with very little body fat, can consume an endless amount of carbs and never gain fat and may need 4 grams of carbs per pound of body weight in order to build muscle. People with higher body fat will likely only require 1 or 2 grams of carbs per pound of body weight to gain muscle.

Water

There is no reason to focus on proper nutrition for bodybuilding if you’re dehydrated. Your muscles and digestive system need water to get the job done.

Body Fat

If your body fat percentage is low, that means your body isn’t getting enough extra calories to produce fat. While this is desirable for many people, bodybuilding for muscle gain requires your body to be satisfied with the amount of calories you’re consuming, so it can go into an anabolic state.

The bench press is arguably the most renowned of the weight lifting exercises, with even couch potatoes understanding what it seems like in a general way. It is hip with many bodybuilders, and traditionally utilized by soccer coaches as a yardstick by which to guess a candidate’s strength. Yet, a backlash is developing against the overemphasis, particularly in the preferred culture, of the bench press. Many sports professionals have abandoned it as a benchmark because there are other lifts that might better measure overall strength than the bench press, which measures only shoulders and chest strength.

There are essentially a few differing kinds of bench presses. What the majority mean by the term bench press likely refers back to the flat bench press, its technical name, gleaned from the angle-less position of the bench. Decline bench presses involve a bench at an angle such that the lifter’s head is closer to the ground than his or her feet, while incline bench presses involve a bench with an angle which has the lifter sitting up anywhere from forty-five to sixty or so degrees, depending on private choices ( incline bench press benches are typically rather adjustable ).

The bench press could be a fatal exercise if not performed properly under correct conditions. Each year someone dies from it, though each death has been avoidable as victims were usually working out alone. It’s very important to use a spotter, a coaching partner who is able to physically assist with failed lifts or with forced reps. Having such help is useful as the muscles find out how to overcome weird amounts of resistance.

If one must exercise alone, care needs to be taken to use a power rack. This is due to obvious safety reasons first and foremost, but the power rack is a wonderful piece of gear that also allows for multiple exercises like squats and dead-lifts. Practicing the overhead lift is most efficient with a power rack, especially for noobs.

In order to truly get get yourself into shape need to be able to work out some affect a workout plans. Planning out your exercise regime is in a crucial part to getting the body that you want. Only working out once a week is not going to do much for you.

If you want to get yourself in shape in time before the summer comes, you will have to start a workout plan. Planning your exercise schedule is an important part of learning to exercise effectively. Time is a commodity for most people, so, schedule your time accordingly.

If you stick to one kind of exercise or one area of the body, then you are not truly getting in shape. You will have to learn to like work outs for the other parts of your body if you want to look good.

With any type of workout plans that you may be doing, you always need to make sure that you have at least 10 to 15 minutes of a cardio workout before starting anything else. This way your heart gets pumping and is ready to work.

Also be sure that you workout around three times a week. This will give your body a break every other day, and ensure that you do not get fatigued over excessive working out over time.

Most workout plans are split up into sections for either the type of exercise or the area of the body you are working out. You can find plans fit for beginners if you are just starting out.

Also pinpoint the parts of your body that you would like to get toned up the most. While overall you should strive to get your entire body as healthy as possible, everybody has some sort of problem area. Whether there is excess fat, or an area is particularly weak, if you focus on those areas more than the others they will eventually become one of your stronger points.

Th key to getting real results from exercising is creating and sticking to your own exercise plans. This way you can have full control over which exercises you do, and can keep yourself motivated.

It is important to do your research before doing anything in life. Building a better body involves many rewards and a few physical setbacks if you don't do things properly. Look below for some helpful bodybuilding tips that will help you maximize the benefits and minimize setbacks.

It is important to do your research before doing anything in life. Building a better body involves many rewards and a few physical setbacks if you don’t do things properly. Look below for some helpful bodybuilding tips that will help you maximize the benefits and minimize setbacks.

1.Don’t rush right in: Do your research, figure out what pace will be right for you. When you’re starting out, it’s better to do a little less and allow your body to adapt to the exercises, rather than trying to bench press more than Ronnie Coleman in your first week.

2.Ask lots of questions: Whether you’re looking for bodybuilding tips on Google, or you want to ask friends, professional bodybuilders what’s best: Make sure you DO ask questions. People with experience can help you avoid pitfalls such as poor diet, bad technique, useless exercises.

3.Eat healthy: Pizza pockets and Big Macs sure taste great, but they are full of empty calories. Natural fruits, vegetables and meats prepared with low-fat oil or on the barbeque are healthy for you. Processed foods have been scientifically proven to make us lazy and kill our concentration — which is essential for meeting your bodybuilding goals.

4.Get a partner: While it can be embarrassing to admit; some of us need external motivation to get where we want to be. If you have a choice between a bag of Doritos and your favorite sitcom, or a workout by yourself at the gym — there is a very good chance the Doritos and TV will win. If you have a partner relying on you to be there for support and a spotter, your chances of making it to your workout will double.

5.Write it down: This can be a bit of a cliche for some people. When we have trouble sticking to a routine, we’re supposed to write it down and magically get back on track. Some people will benefit from writing their goals/aspirations down, some won’t. Like any bodybuilding tips you might read…use what’s useful to you and discard the rest.

What is cross training? It's doing a variety of workout disciplines either over one workout or over the course of several of your workouts.

What is cross training? It’s doing a variety of workout disciplines either over one workout or over the course of several of your workouts.

There are generally 3 disciplines: aerobic, resistance training, and stretching. A solid cross training regimen includes all three to some degree.

Let me give you an example, a single cross training workout might be include:

Workout: 25 minutes running, 15 minutes weight lifting, and 15 minutes stretching.

Or, it might be over the course of several workouts and be scheduled as follows:

Day 1: 45 minute run.

Day 2: 30 minutes of weight lifting and 30 minutes of core work.

Day 3: 35 minutes using an exercise bike and 25 minutes stretching.

Day 4: 35 minutes using a rower concluding with 30 minutes stretching.

4 Benefits of Cross Training

1. Get some variety in your workouts. Doing the same workout over and over gets stale.

2. Getting in peak shape and being a peak performer is more likely if you do cross training so you condition your entire body – all muscles and systems. Cross training does this.

3. Let your body recover. If you do a one hour weight lifting workout of your upper body, you certainly don’t want to do another hour of weight training on your upper body the next day. But, you can do a nice 40 minute elliptical training session or 45 minute stationary bike ride.

4. The complementary skills you get from the different disciplines can help improve your performance and conditioning in your primary workout discipline. If you’re a swimmer, resistance training and stretching can help your swimming performance.

Get creative with cross training. You can mix up a particular discipline as well. For example, if you’re a swimmer, you can do long distance swimming one day and then do sprints another day.

If you’ve been doing the same old workout week in and week out, consider cross training as a way to get past your plateau and have some fun in your fitness regimen.

Creatine was first identified by researchers in 1932 but its muscle building powers weren’t realized until almost one hundred years later. The first know case of using creatine as a muscle performance enhancing supplement was in Barcelona in 1992 during the summer Olympic games.

Creatine is created naturally in the body by the kidneys and the liver and is also taken into the body via diet, mostly through red meat. An amino acid, creatine is used by muscle tissue in the formation of adenosine triphosphate, which is the energy source used by muscles for contraction.

Once ingested, creatine is transformed into phosphocreatine – a storage mechanism for quick bursts of energy. The nervous system and the voluntary muscles rely on phosphocreatine when large bursts of energy are needed by activities such as sprinting or lifting weights.

So why do athletes take creatine? Studies have shown that creatine can increase the performance of athletes in activities that require quick bursts of energy, such as sprinting, and can help athletes to recover faster after expending bursts of energy. Creatine helps increase muscle mass, rather than muscle endurance, so it’s not well suited for athletes participating in endurance activities. However, the increase in muscle mass may be due to water retention and not an increase in muscle tissue.

Several studies have confirmed the muscle enhancing benefits of creatine supplements. Researchers at McMaster University Medical Center in Ontario found that creatine can cause small increases in strength in people with a variety of disorders of the neuromuscular system. Studies done at Cornell University showed that patients with Lou Gehrigs Disease, or ALS, were also found to benefit with increases in muscular strength by taking creatine supplements.

Adverse side-effects among athletes taking creatine are relatively rare, although there have been a small number of reports of kidney damage linked to creatine usage. Dehydration is the most common problem reported while taking creatine. Athletes generally take a “loading dose” of 20 grams of creatine a day for five or six days, then continue with a “maintenance dose” of 2 to 5 grams of creatine each day thereafter.

Long term studies of taking creatine show that diarrhea was the most common adverse effect with muscle cramping reported in a small number of athletes. Serious damage to kidneys, liver or circulatory systems was not reported. Taking creatine as a muscle performance enhancing supplement has been proven safe and effective.

When you are looking for muscle building tips, it makes a difference what your particular genetics are like. Some advice will be the same for everyone. However, if you are skinny, there will be some tips that are specific to your situation.

People who are generally skinny usually have the kinds of genetic structure that does not allow for easy muscle gain. It’s not that it is impossible. Your exercise regimen just needs to be approached more seriously than some other people need to do. You will need to create a program that takes your body type into consideration.

One thing that you need to do is to be sure you get lots of rest after working out. This is important for everyone, especially when exercising. But skinny people have faster metabolisms than others do. Therefore, they need to rest more after exercising so that their bodies have the energy needed to recover and build muscle.

You will also need to eat more frequently. It takes good nutrition to build muscle as well as a lot of it. Again, with a fast metabolism, you need to be even more careful that you are getting the calories that you need.

One important way to help with your calorie and nutrition intake is to take protein supplements. Your body needs many elements to build muscle but protein is one of the most important. You can also eat other good quality protein foods such as fish and complex carbohydrates like pastas and rice.

You should stay away from aerobic exercise while you are trying to build muscle. This type of exercise will only increase your metabolism which is already working against you. Again, it is best to make sure you are getting enough rest in between weight training sessions.

Make sure that you push yourself so that you each workout is challenging. It is best if each session is short but intense. It can be helpful to work out with a friend, preferably who has the same problem that you do in building muscle. It can also be helpful to hire a trainer who can help motivate you as well as to develop a training program that is geared towards a skinny person bulking up.

Every few weeks, you should alternate your routine so your body gets continual challenge. Change the number of reps you do too so that both fast and slow twitch fibers are targeted. This will be a more effective way to build muscle.

Do things to help you recover faster and better in between workouts. Epsom salt baths, massages and icing are all ways to do this. Make sure your water intake is good and that you are getting enough electrolytes as well.

As with any exercise program, skinny or not, it is important to keep track of your results. Make small goals that are challenging but reachable and then keep a diary as to your eating as well as your workouts. Having smaller goals to work towards will help you stay motivated. And keep an eye out for any new muscle building tips. New things are being discovered all the time.

People who enter the world of bodybuilding have always asked how to go about building mass. A complete beginner’s to bodybuilding often find themselves lost because they are so many myths which make bodybuilding difficult and unsuccessful. The best way to build lean muscle mass is to follow a program with dedication. You need to pickup a good program and stick with it till you are to where you need to be. You however shouldn’t stop the program because you have gotten to where you need to be.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make as a beginner is to imitate pro bodybuilder. Pros have been bodybuilding for years, add to that the fact that many of them are genetically gifted with a good body. Copying their exercises is not going to get you anywhere. One of the best ways to gain body mass is to become stronger. The stronger you are the more muscle you will put on.

You need to start by doing strength building exercises. You need not visit a gym to start exercising on the latest machines known to man but a simple old fashioned barbell will work great. When you lift free weights it enables you to become stronger which in turn means that your body will put on more lean muscle mass. People who are just starting to lift weights should start with an empty rod just so that you learn the correct technique once you do you can add weights endlessly.

Free weights put stress on your body and the more stress you put on your body the more muscle you will gain to cope with that stress. Dumbbells are good for exercises that require assistance but for starters barbells are great.

I won’t advise that you start isolating parts of your body and exercising them. The reason is that it doesn’t really build any real muscle mass and doesn’t increase your strength. You should focus on doing compound exercises. Compound exercises don’t focus on any particular body part but focus on a well rounded development. Your exercises should always put stress on many body parts.

You should focus on doing squats and dead lifts. Squats help your body increase mass. The stronger your legs become the stronger every other part of your body will become. This is because the thighs are the biggest muscles in your body. So if you desire big arms you still need to exercise your thighs to achieve that.

Eating the right foods is more important than lifting weights. You need to eat foods that are high in proteins and good carbohydrates. Your body needs its proper does of vitamins and minerals in order for it to build muscle.

You need to get proper rest between exercises because your body isn’t like those of pro bodybuilders. Your body releases growth hormones during rest which is how to gain muscle Mass.

What are the finest exercises to get the abs you desire? This is a common question since a lot of people are interested in getting toned, ripped, and washboard looking abs.

Even though ab exercises are not well liked among a lot of people, they are the best way to trim belly fat and achieve a great overall physique. However, knowing the best exercises to get abs is not enough, as you’ll need to know how to perform them properly to get the maximum benefits.

One of the top exercises to develop abs is the V-up exercise. The V-up exercise is great for getting great abs because it works the entire abdominal area. To perform this exercise properly you’ll need to lay flat on the floor with your legs straight out.

Now pick up your arms so that they stretch out over you. Raise your legs off the ground using your abdominal muscles until they reach a 45 degree angle.

At the exact same time you must elevate your torso off the ground and have your arms reach your legs. Make sure your arms are parallel to your legs.

Your chest and torso should be straight and should form a letter “V” with your legs. Do this exercise for abs for at least 20 to25 times to start.

Another one of the top ab exercises is the reverse bicycle kick. To perform this exercise properly you need to sit on the floor and tilt your chest and torso back slightly so that it reaches a 45 degree angle with the floor.

Place your hands on the floor by your sides and raise your feet off the floor and pump your feet back and forth as if you’re pedalling a bicycle. Carry out this ab exercise for around 20 to 25 times to start with.

You may execute the reverse bicycle kick by pumping your feet in the backwards direction as if you are pedalling in a reverse motion. These are 2 of the better exercises to get abs, and by executing them routinely you will achieve the toned, ripped, and washboard abs you need.
